Information Required to Develop Evacuation Diagrams:
In order to develop evacuation diagrams, we need the following information to ensure an accurate prompt and cost-effective solution for your requirements :
Floorplans
Ideally, provide DWG Autocad Files along with matching PDF files that clearly show walls, doors, and stairs. If DWG files are unavailable, high-quality PDF files can be used. If unable to provide. If you do not have floor plans available your evacuation diagrams can still be developed. Evacu8solutions can come to your site to estimate the number of diagrams required and conduct a markup of the site. if you are unable to source or supply suitable floor plans.
Site Survey- Mark Up
Some projects may require a pre-quote Site Survey to be completed. This will provide Evacu8solutions with the necessary information to accurately provide a full quotation. In this situation, the client will be charged a set fee to cover the costs of completing the Site Survey. Please consider whether a site visit is necessary or if you are comfortable working remotely/ online with us to develop the diagrams.
Equipment Details
Include the locations of emergency exits, hydrants, fire hose reels, manual call points, fire extinguishers (with specific types), fire blankets, WIP phones, fire indicator panels, and emergency door releases. If applicable, provide additional information from fire engineering reports, such as spill kits, storage of flammable materials, warden stations, first aid kits, defibrillators etc.
Alternative / Performance Solutions
If there are any specific performance solutions documented in a fire engineering report for the property these should be provided.
Signage Locations
Indicate the particular wall where each sign will be mounted, ensuring correct orientation. Specify whether the “You Are Here” (YAH) sign should be in landscape format (420mm Wide) or portrait format (297mm Wide).
Number of Diagrams
Evacuation diagrams are essential for facilities, but there is no fixed rule for the exact number needed. We conduct a thorough assessment, considering factors like building size, layout, and occupancy. Our goal is to provide the right quantity of clear and concise diagrams along exit routes, ensuring safety and compliance without unnecessary extras.
Emergency Assembly Area Location
Evacuation diagrams must initially show the location and routes to the nearest emergency exit, and subsequently the path to a designated place of safety outside the building where persons evacuating the building or the part are expected to assemble under the building’s fire and evacuation plan. This location should not necessitate crossing a road or street to access wherever possible. Please also note that in some cases more than one Alternate Assembly Point may be required.
Site-specific emergency procedures
Should there be any specific emergency procedures that are documented in your emergency plan we can look to include these on the diagrams if required.
Proofing and Amendments: We will provide a set of proofs for your review, including the diagram template, site plan, and floor proofs showing equipment and YAH locations. If any amendments are required, please communicate them to us for revision and resubmission. It is important to confirm all information before proceeding.
Customised Branding
Should you wish to incorporate corporate colours, logos, or fonts please advise, We may require PMS colours and fonts to be provided, and logos should be provided in SVG, EPS or PNG formats for optimum reproduction and clarity.
Validity Period
Evacuation diagrams have a validity period of five years from the date of issue, or until the diagrams and signage become unreadable, or there are equipment changes or significant alterations to the building. Regular review and updates are necessary to ensure that the diagrams remain current and reflective of the actual conditions on the property.
Design and drafting timelines
The turnaround time to produce artwork or drafting is generally 3 – 5 days from receipt of clean and concise markups or a fully detailed design proof of the template, site plan, and each floorplan showing the equipment, exits and all You Are Here locations on the floor. This will be submitted for approval and review. Please note that delays in the supply of information or the return of proofs may impact the overall turnaround of your project.
Final Approval
Once all amendments are completed and confirmed, individual diagrams will be produced. We will provide final proof for your approval. Depending on your preferences, we can either supply electronic files for self-printing or assist with printing durable signage. Please see signage solutions.
Signage Options
Consider the type of signage you prefer ie digital files to print yourself, replacement signs to go into existing snap frames, durable signage for outdoor areas, and premium signage to aesthetically compliment your property. See signage options for more information.
Artwork Ownership
Any artwork provided to a client remains the property of Evacu8 Solutions until payment in full has been received. Digital or physical reproduction of said artwork without written permission (for purposes other than proofing) is not permitted and is an infringement of copyright law.

Evacu8 Solutions are committed to providing accurate and compliant evacuation diagrams which will depict the information provided to us in accordance with Australian Standards.
